Strong alumni support remains one of the School’s most steadfast and proud traditions.

The School’s mission is as ambitious as it is honorable: to improve health and well-being for all. To achieve this mission, we depend on your philanthropic support.

Harvard Medical School has set up two critical funds related to the coronavirus pandemic:

  • The Student Emergency Aid Fund provides temporary, need-based financial assistance to MD students who are struggling with unanticipated situations and stressors while trying to manage demanding academic requirements. Funds may be granted to cover temporary housing, meals, and other essential needs; travel costs associated with a personal or family emergency; unforeseen or unusually high medical expenses; and unexpected financial aid needs.
  • The COVID-19 Response and Research Fund enables us to convene clinicians and scientists to address the immediate challenges of the current global pandemic and to create a rapid-response system to deal with future outbreaks. This collaborative approach focuses on six key areas: epidemiology, diagnostics, pathogenesis, clinical disease management, treatment, and vaccines.

a gift of any size to these or other school priorities, like financial aid, will uplift our community and advance hms’s mission of education, research, and service during this challenging time.
